Netflix shows, Netflix shows to watch with broken bone

Breaking a bone is never fun, and it’s especially awful during the summertime. However, we live in a magical time where there are thousands of shows available to stream as you please. While your friends are outside in the sweltering heat, enjoy resting up in the cool AC and binging shows on Netflix. We’re here to help you out by adding these must sees to your list:

 1.  Stranger Things

If you need an 80’s fix, then Stranger Things is the show for you! This Netflix original is centered around the Goonies-like friendship of four boys, and how they work together with a girl with strange abilities when one of them mysteriously disappears. It’s a show you can easily binge in a day since it’s only eight episodes. Get caught up this summer because season 2 comes out in October!

2. Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt

This show is perfect for someone who is feeling down on their luck. It’s super positive and extremely funny. The show follows the life of Kimmy Schmidt, a girl who moves to New York after being rescued from a doomsday cult, Kimmy is now 30 years old and still has the mentality of a teenager in the 90’s. The characters Kimmy surrounds herself with other zany characters who always find themselves in hilarious situations.

3. House of Cards

I’m sure somebody has told you to watch this at least once already. This political series is not on its fifth season and still manages to captivate its viewers without earning its stripes among television critics. The show follows Frank Underwood (played by Kevin Spacey) ascent to power from Speaker of the House to President of the United States. However, this ascent isn’t uplifting or inspirational. Underwood’s quest for power is accomplished through manipulation and stepping on the backs of others. Doesn’t sound pleasant but the show’s sudden twists and unpredictability of the characters are what keeps viewers hooked.

4. Girlboss

This show is “loosely” based on the book and life story of Sophia Amoruso, founder and CEO of Nasty Gal - a vintage clothing store. The show takes place in San Francisco where a young Sofia is struggling to figure out where she fits in this world. The show takes us on a journey starting with Sophia’s origins of dumpster diving and flipping vintage clothes on Ebay, to how she established a multimillion dollar company. Girlboss has many laugh out loud moments and Sophia’s character development is really inspirational. Girl or boy this show definitely makes you want to be a boss.

5. Making a Murderer

CSI, Law and Order, or other crime drama fan? Making a Murder is the perfect show for you! The show was filmed over a 10 year period and follows the true real-life story of a DNA exoneree who exposes police corruption. However, while exposing corruption becomes a suspect himself in a heinous crime. This show is a nonstop thriller by making you wonder who is telling the truth and who’s lying. This summer you can decide.
